Planting the Porch

Finally, finally, it is summer here and I managed to get all the planting done on our porch. Remember my old pot? Well, I decided I was indeed going to use it as a planter. Here goes!

First I thought pink petunias would like nice in it, but as I surveyed the plants I had bought at our local garden fair, I decided what could be more apt than to plant my herbs in my old soup pot? A veritable kitchen garden with mint, chives and basil! I hope they will be sympatico in there.

Other than that, my usual pink and fuchsia impatients were planted. They simply grow best on our porch and are easy to take care of.

Oh, and the poppy flower seeds my friend sent me from Germany are sprouting. Joy!

    1. Yep, one gets a bit dirty and sweaty but it's nice to see the results and enjoy them for months.

  3. I love what you did with your pot. What a great idea! And with polished nails no less. I just got finished planting 64 tiny vincas along the front of the house. I love summer flowers. Your porch is going to look fantastic Annette! :)
