Knitting!

I've been knitting a lot lately; it keeps me sane while I supervise my younger son doing homework. I literally have to clicking away to stay patient, but I can't pay much attention to patterns. Therefore, projects need to be simple, like this cap I made for my former au pair's daughter. I had this one ball of pastel blue/pink/lavender yarn, left over from some project I never completed for my daughter. Definitely girly and babyish, but not much of it! What to do with it? And for whom? Thankfully, our former German au pair, who is like a second daughter to us, was visiting recently, and she's the only one in my vicinity who has a baby girl. So I indulged my inner grandmother and knitted a cap for the baby. Along the way I adhered to my motto for the year: Create!

  1. I don't take my camera out often enough as I should. However, today in France in the store equivalent to WalMart I bought THREE books of counted cross stitch patterns. When I hit Paris at the end of the week I'm going to go to a giant embroidery shop I know and buy a cross stitch pattern for my dining room table.

    1. Julie - way to go! Now you have to make sure not to stuff those patterns into a closet when you get back home, but rather start working on one of them.

  2. My aunt particularly loved to knit through her life. She'd come up to see my parents and always have something to be working on....
