Gossamer Magic

A leaf stands in midair. Upon closer inspection, it seems to hang by an invisible thread, caught on the one flight of its life, the journey of autumn, the trip from branch to ground.

And I? I happen upon this little wonder in the forest. I click and click my camera's shutter to hopefully (here!) capture the leaf's twirl in autumn's breeze.

Later, lying in the grass, perhaps for the last time this year, I peer into the sun, and spot this marvel: a web of silken threads, spun from blade to blade.
Lately the weather has been wet and gray, and so I turned to my photos of that gloriously sunny day, spent at our Indiana property last week, trying to catch the glassy magic of gossamer.

  1. There can't be many more warm days left now... good shots!

    1. William - glad you like the shots. And yes, it has gotten decidedly colder here in the meantime.

  2. Annette, I accompanied you this morning on your Artist's Date, and I feel refreshed and ready to begin my day.
